Digital transformation across our operations

At Oshkosh, we're advancing digital manufacturing across our operations to boost efficiency and sustainability. By leveraging the Internet of Things (IoT) and a new Digital Plant Management System (DPMS), we've achieved significant cost savings and increased connectivity of assets by over 200%. These innovations, along with deploying robotics and artificial intelligence for tasks like inspection and welding, enable us to collect and analyze operational performance and sustainability data, driving continuous improvement.

First-ever solar microgrid delivers energy savings

Our first-ever solar microgrid at Pierce Manufacturing, part of a 90,000-square-foot expansion to its assembly plant in Appleton, WI, generates energy to charge an ESS battery system, storing and discharging energy during peak demand periods. It not only reduces electricity use and costs but also sets a benchmark for sustainability, enabling us to share these advancements across our portfolio and with our customers. This project received a solar grant from the Public Service Commission of Wisconsin for Energy Innovation, marking a significant achievement in our sustainability efforts.

Reusing water

At our JLG facility in León, Mexico, we've implemented a system that recovers and reuses rejected water via reverse osmosis. This innovative approach saves an amount of water equivalent to the average consumption of 186 households in León, significantly reducing groundwater consumption. Additionally, the facility has a separate recycling system that allows for the reuse of up to 70% of the water used in the paint line, demonstrating our commitment to resource efficiency and sustainability.
